Luka Modric opens talks with Inter Milan as Arturo Vidal deal stalls

The Real Madrid rumor mill doesn't seem set to stop this summer, with Luka Modric the latest player linked with a move away from the Spanish capital. Marco Asensio recently had to deny a move to Liverpool and Mateo Kovacic told to Marca that he wishes to leave the club.

According to Sky Italia, Croatia worldwide Luka Modric is tempted to join Inter Milan, with the Italian club having apparently made contact with the player's agents.

In doing so, Inter can offset the deal over two financial years. They will join up with their teammates later next week, when Julen Lopetegui and his squad return from their International Champions Cup in the U.S. The Croatian is now on holiday in Sardinia and will supposedly approach President Florentino Perez in the coming days about his future at the club.

The story takes another twist when you consider Lemic also advises Real Madrid target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, a player Inter are reportedly hoping will sign for Los Blancos, in order to further free up Modric for a move to the San Siro - according to the Evening Standard, anyway.

Ever since his arrival in 2012 and winning the subsequent end of season award for worst transfer of the year, Luka Modric has been the picture of consistency and perfection for Real Madrid. "The only possibility that Modric leaves is by paying 750 million euros". Despite being nearly 33 now, Modric's dazzling displays at the World Cup in Russian Federation - where he won the Golden Ball as Croatia reached the final - showed that he remains unaffected by his advancing years.

The midfielder, who remains on vacation following the World Cup until next week, has a contract that runs through June 2020.
