Standard Sonic stuff then. The film is being labeled a live-action family film, but CGI elements will most likely be used to create Sonic and his friends. And now he's getting his own movie, and the actor who will voice the speedy, blue hero has been revealed.

Scwartz, who is now voicing Dewey Duck on Disney Channel's Duck Tales reboot, can next be seen in the Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish comedy Night School. It was confirmed that Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, House of Lies) will provide the voice for the title character. If he can put on a convincing Southern drawl, maybe he'll voice Huckleberry Hound for Hanna-Barbera. It's a surprising casting for the actor, but his history of zany roles may actually make him a good fit.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been filling out its cast, with James Marsden playing a small town sheriff named Tom Wachowski and Jim Carrey starring as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman.

Considering the unique look of Robotnik, as you can see above, people have been curious how they're going to pull off this character in the movie.

"It will be live-action", he went on to say, adding a level of intrigue to the production process as Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is usually shown as having an ovoid body type. Jeff Fowler, who received an Oscar nomination for his 2005 animated short Gopher Broke, is directing, with Deadpool director Tim Miller serving as executive producing alongside Toby Ascher.
