Apple set to launch its new iPhones on September 12

Apple Inc AAPL.O said on Thursday it will host an event on september 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater in the company's Cupertino, California, campus, where it is widely expected to unveil new iPhone models.

A new leak may have just revealed the design of the rumored Apple Watch Series 4. Apple usually streams its event live online but if you are unable to tune in, we'll have coverage of the day's events right here on TechSpot. The new 6.1-inch iPhone is expected to hit shelves a bit later than the OLED models - possibly not until October, Bloomberg reports.

On Thursday, Warren Buffett said he slightly increased his stake in Apple recently, adding that the iPhone is "enormously underpriced" for the utility it offers users.

To recall, the leading tech company opened the Apple Park campus past year and unveiled its premium iPhone X handset as part of the tenth-anniversary celebration. The 6.5-inch model would be the largest iPhone to date, and the 6.1-inch model would be a new, less-expensive model for customers to consider. It's also worth noting that Apple has retired the weird red dot on the Digital Crown, though there appears to be a (much less weird) red ring in its place.

The third phone will be a budget model, and the lower cost will reportedly be achieved with aluminum edges instead of a stainless steel casing and the cheaper LED screen.

A photo of Apple's next generation "iPhone XS" models has been leaked by 9to5Mac. While the shape of this Apple Watch looks similar to the current model, it looks like Apple has slimmed the bezels to give the watch a larger display.

The Apple Watch isn't an iPhone-like revenue generator, but is part of the company's growing Other Products segment. Kuo further predicts that the 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone models could come in single-SIM and dual-SIM variants depending on the regions.

Rumors also suggest this new iPhone will not come with 3D Touch.
