Elon Musk Calls Diver Involved in Thai Rescue Efforts a ‘Pedo Guy’

Musk also said he would prove his submarine was up to the task by sending it into the cave.

Doctors say the boys are in good health following a successful three-day operation which ended on July 10, when teams of Thai Navy SEALs and worldwide cave diving experts hauled the last five members of the team to safety. Lashing out and calling a guy who was actually part of the rescue operation in a measurable way a pedophile is probably not a great move!

Musk was intensely criticised on Twitter for the attack on Unsworth.

Believing the sub he built would have been able to get the trapped children out of the cage, Musk wrote, "I challenge this dude to show final rescue video".

If not, a summary of man and cave follows.

After the boys were rescued, Musk was quick to tweet his heartfelt sentiments about the mission.

He called one journalist who criticized his submarine a "jackass".

But now Mr Musk has taken to Twitter in a rant against the experienced diver, adding he "never saw him in the cave". Now, analysts, and the rescuers themselves, are suggesting that Musk's submarine was nothing more than a PR stunt.

Musk fired back in a series of now-deleted tweets that complemented the Thai navy SEALs, but crushed Unsworth, where he questioned water levels in the cave and whether or not "you could literally have swum there".

Then, three days after the rescue operation was completed, CNN posted an interview with a British spelunker who had helped locate the boys.

Musk was responding to criticism from British caver Vernon Unsworth, who told CNN that Musk "can stick his submarine where it hurts". "He had no conception of what the cave passage was like", Unsworth said.

Like other critics, Unsworth noted that the flooded tunnel was extremely narrow and twisted. Musk said of his giving that "a nominal annual amount goes out automatically to both parties to maintain dialogue". "It wouldn't have made the first fifty metres into the cave. just a PR stunt".

Unsworth said Musk was asked to leave the cave, as "he should have been".

In a freakish series of tweets on Sunday, Musk said he would produce a video proving his submarine would have been able to reach the children and in a comment directed at Unsworth, added: "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it".

And midway through his rant, for some inexplicable reason, he accused Unsworth of sex crimes.
