Israeli Hits Military Facility in Southern Gaza

United Nations officials condemned the killing of Najjar, saying that witness reports indicated she wore clothing that clearly identified her as a health worker.

The proposed resolution "is morally bankrupt and would only serve to undermine ongoing efforts toward peace between the Israelis and Palestinians", Haley said in a statement on Thursday.

Israeli warplanes have carried out a series of fresh airstrikes across the Gaza Strip.

Gaza militants fired five projectiles toward Israel on Saturday night, the Israel Defense Forces said, in apparent violation of a ceasefire agreed to by Hamas and Islamic Jihad earlier in the week. Gaza is controlled by the Islamist Hamas group, which Israel and the West designate as a terrorist organization. It said it struck a total of 10 targets, including weapons manufacturing and storage sites. Three were intercepted, the army said, with the fourth apparently hitting an open field.

The Israelis have also accused Hamas and its militant affiliates in Gaza of using the protests as cover for sending attackers into Israel.

The military says the Palestinian tried to ram his auto into the forces Saturday in Hebron. Dozens of youths approached the fence, burning tires and hurling rocks at Israeli troops behind the fence.

Most of those killed during the protests have been shot by Israeli snipers, half of them in a single day, May 14, the peak of the campaign.

Israel said militants had attacked its troops with gunfire and a grenade.

Thousands of Palestinians attended Najjar's funeral in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis on Saturday.

On Friday, the protests resumed. Interviewed by Reuters interview in April, she said she would see the border protests through until their end. Some 40 Palestinians were wounded and Najjar was the only one killed.

The IDF has announced that it will investigate the incident.

"The IDF (Israel Defence Forces) constantly works to draw operational lessons and reduce the number of casualties in the area of the Gaza Strip security fence". But military officials have acknowledged shooting some people by mistake due to the crowded and smoky conditions of the protests. Israeli officials have argued that they have a right to use deadly force to stop protesters from scaling the fence that separates Gaza and Israel. She was the eldest of six siblings. I will miss her so much.

"My angel left this place, she is now in a better place". Sirens wailed in southern Israel overnight warning of incoming rockets. The blockade, meant to weaken Hamas, has caused widespread economic hardship in Gaza. Residents worked alongside with firefighters and soldiers to try to contain the fires, which have become nearly daily occurrences since the start of the "March of Return" protests along the border at the end of March.

Al-Qedra said that 100 demonstrators were injured Friday, including 40 injured by live gunshots.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Razan al-Najjar!

Footage circulating on social media showed Israeli soldiers pulling a man's body out of a small tractor standing in a street. She had been working as a volunteer medic to treat wounded protesters. Hers was the only fatality registered Friday.
