With Zinedine Zidane leaving Real Madrid out of the blue on Thursday, Oliver Bierhoff expressed his delight that Joachim Low recently signed a new contract with Germany.

He was flanked at the press conference by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez who said Zidane's announcement was "totally unexpected". It was not an easy decision. I thank you all for your support and there are hard times when there are whistles but that is part of this club.

"Like hundreds of millions of football fans, I want him to play at the World Championships".

"I think that he has found a home, somewhere he is respected and appreciated, and he's also working with a manager who was courageous enough to pay a lot of money for him when others looked at what had happened at Chelsea". "For me and for everybody, I think the moment to change has arrived". I've worked hard this season; with the coaching staff and the manager.

"When I saw his body language I was like, 'Is he thinking about something?"

Many pinned Liverpool's hopes in the Champions League final on the performance of Salah, but the Egypt star was forced off after just 30 minutes of Real Madrid's 3-1 win in Kiev.

Football fans have launched a petition on Change.org, urging FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to punish Ramos for forcing Salah out of the Champions League final and almost removing him from the 2018 World Cup. The others are Bob Paisley (Liverpool) and Carlo Ancelotti (AC Milan and Real Madrid). The triumph represented his ninth major trophy in just two-and-a-half years in charge.

Zidane, 45, replaced Rafa Benitez in January 2016 and immediately led Madrid to success.
