Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode Announced

If you're a frequent window shopper of the Fortnite in-game store, you'll know that those V-Bucks will go a long way in customizing characters with skins, emotes, back blings and more.

For perspective, the most expensive items on Fortnite Battle Royale often cost around 2,000 V-Bucks, so a player with 50,000 V-Bucks is a rich player indeed.

Check out our list of the best battle royale games on PC.

And a note for people who suck at Fortnite like me: everybody who finishes their 50 qualifying matches will get an exclusive in-game spray regardless of performance.

Solo Showdown is going to become available starting May 21 at 10:00 AM EST and its going to be a great way of earing V-Bucks, the in-game currency. You have to be 16 or older to win a prize, too.

That's on top of a customisable HUD for mobile players, which was added earlier this week. They feel that a competitive mode is in the pipeline over at Epic Games. Things get even better than this because the victor of Solo Showdown gets 50,000 V-Bucks.

Tyler "Ninja" Blevins continues to defy the laws of Fortnite: Battle Royale with an insane Solo-Squad 1v7 that will have you on the edge of your seat. Earning V-Bucks, rather than purchasing them with real money, has never netted much of a return. So, the prizes are worth playing for. While this doesn't necessarily change any of the core gameplay mechanics that fans of the original Solo mode are used to, it does have a pretty major difference, so let's run you through what you need to know about it.

Epic announced that the goal of launching this mode is just the first step in helping it learn "how to build great events for all types of players".

Epic also wants to make it easy to mute yourself and other players.
