Nintendo Opens Up Email Registration For News On Pokémon On Nintendo Switch

The Pokemon company has just unveiled two brand new games for Nintendo Switch. The trailer had a lot of information and because the event wasn't live-streamed, a wealth of information trickled out without much context.

It was also revealed in the Q&A after that separate Switch accounts would have their own saves, meaning that you wouldn't need to buy separate copies of Let's Go to share it with a partner/family member.

Pokemon Quest is a fun little game, if not a little lightweight for users who might be expecting the depth offered in other series entries or even the hit mobile title Pokemon Go.

"With the launch of Pokemon Go in 2016 and the global sensation that ensued, millions of new players were introduced to the world of Pokemon", said Junichi Masuda, director at developer Game Freak.

Dedicated trainers can also splash out on a Poke Ball Plus, a special controller that will let you feel your Pokemon prey trapped inside it, and has motion controls, lights vibration, and sounds.

In-keeping with recent rumours, the games will take place in the Kanto region (the setting of the original 1996 games) and represent a full 3D reimagining of 1998's Pokemon Yellow, which allowed players to buddy up with the iconic electric rat Pikachu. The gadget will initially be sold only in Japan.

Let us know in the comments how excited you are about this confirmation.

Also on Wednesday, Pokemon also showed off Pokemon Quest, a free-to-start game that will be released right away for the Switch and in June for smartphones.

While there aren't any new details on the upcoming game, it does hint that more details on the game may be shared soon.
