Nintendo Announced A New Adjustable Charging Stand For Switch, Launches July 13

Previously if you wanted to charge while playing in Tabletop mode, you had to be creative in finding ways to prop it up and even if you did, you were always at the risk of ruining its cord.

The Adjustable Charging Stand for Nintendo Switch will be available on July 13th, 2018 at an MSRP of $19.99. Available from July, the Nintendo Switch charging stand would enable longer tabletop sessions, according to Nintendo. There are various reasons Nintendo may be forgoing the Virtual Console for the Switch, chief among them being their extremely successful Classic line of mini-consoles, their Netflix-like distribution method of NES games that will be coming along with their recently announced $19.99 Dollars a year online service and a desire to make legacy games more than simple emulations. The Nintendo Switch Adjustable Charging Stand will provide a wider base and kickstand and will enable charging while the hybrid console is in Tabletop mode. As such, it shouldn't be a surprise that this charging stand has no TV output, or at least Nintendo isn't saying so. It is also more adjustable and arguably more stable than the thin kickstand.

Nintendo Switch Online will be launching as a paid service and will be the only way to cloud save a game.

Are you going to be able to buy these games without a Nintendo Switch Online account to play offline? That will be very useful if there is more than one Switch in the house. The limited viewing angle and the inability to charge while playing make Tabletop mode unfeasible in many situations.

Nintendo suggests that Switch owners stick to licensed products. The company also warned that these accessories might not be compatible with all their systems and games.

There are some third-party solutions, but nothing official until now. However, Nintendo has introduced an accessory that easily solves that problem. Maybe one day it will come back, but for now all I can say is for the first time in the Switch's life, Nintendo made a huge mistake. The case is a shock and scratch-resistant polycarbonate cover. From little wheels for your Joy-Con to things that are actually useful, like docks and screen protectors. The game, which should be out later this year, would help push the sales up further.

Nintendo recently detailed their paid online service, simply called Nintendo Switch Online.
