Kevin Love out for Game 7 vs. Celtics with concussion-like symptoms

Didn't quite go down.

With Love on the shelf, the Cavaliers will turn to Jeff Green, who had easily his best outing of the series on Friday night - notching nine of his 14 points in the second quarter after Love went down.

LeBron James isn't going down without a fight. In the other two, he played a total of eight minutes, scoring eight points in his 5:40 played in game four.

The Celtics have already played a Game 7 in this postseason, handily beating Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. But the four-time MVP continues to ascend to new heights seemingly with each passing game - and he was in full-form on Friday night at The Q. James typically banishes nostalgia to a back shelf in his head to savor after his career is over, but he has taken extra time to savor the ride a little. I was just hoping for the best, obviously, because I've seen so many different injuries, and watching basketball with that type of injury, someone fall into one's leg standing straight up. "I feel like anybody else would feel playing 100 games in a season".

James said after the game it would require a "real, real, real, really bad injury" for him to consider leaving the floor.

Precocious wing Tatum shook off a slow start to score 15 points on 7-for-13 shooting with three rebounds and two assists. Facing off against Paul Pierce, James had a spectacular game - scoring 45 points to go with five rebounds, six assists in two steals in almost 47 minutes.

This game, of course, not only delivered Cleveland its first championship in more than a half century, but it also produced the iconic image of James's career: The Block. Stevens said the team doctors checked on him "and he's great". "I think that the way in which he's done that and all of the years now that he's made The Finals and gone deep into the playoffs, it's unbelievable".

With Love out, expect the Cavaliers to play with a smaller, yet quicker lineup. The problem? They may have to try and do so without Kevin Love. Fifty-fifty balls, grit, first man to the floor. However, as a precautionary measure, likely to test for a concussion, Love went back into the locker room shortly afterward. The Cavaliers later ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

It's been an odd Playoff run for Kevin Love - who's been excellent at times and struggled at others.

Tatum has been an absolute stud for the Celtics. He is experiencing concussion-like symptoms and has been placed in the league's concussion protocol. Losing Love would be a blow for Cleveland on the road.

Moments before the Cavs sent a news release updating Love's status, coach Tyronn Lue held a confusing teleconference during which he said the 29-year-old was still being evaluated and there was a possibility he could play.

"I'm for sure going to find a Chipotle in Boston, I'll tell you that", he said.
