5 reasons the Packers should sign Dez Bryant

He sees the veteran wideout going to Green Bay.

The Giants still don't appear interested in Dez Bryant - though Janoris Jenkins continues to lobby the front office to change its mind. That has Dallas bringing in more kickers to compete for the job this offseason, and if Bailey is unable to find his reliable form again, the Cowboys may be willing to part with their long-time kicker. So, Witten might not be totally insane making the suggestion, though it does seem fairly outlandish given the Packers historical tendency to shy away from splashy free agent signings. The Ravens actually offered Bryant a multi-year deal to which he turned down, wanting more of a one-year deal with a club. However, not long after Witten's opinion surfaced, the potential pairing was downplayed with the Packers reportedly not expected to sign Bryant, via Pro Football Talk.

When Jason Witten predicted his former teammate would end up in Green Bay catching passes from the two-time MVP, defensive coordinators in the NFC must have had their hearts stop for a brief moment.

The Packers were, however, one of the initial teams who indeed seemed invested in the concept of Bryant potentially playing in Green Bay after the Cowboys released him in April.

Rodgers has never had any issues spreading the ball around, and even though the Packers are stacked offensively, Bryant could add to the high-volume attack. "Aaron Rodgers, he throws that back-shoulder throw so well, and Dez [can have] great chemistry with a good quarterback that can put the ball where ever he wants". I still believe Dez can highpoint the football as good as any receiver in the National Football League. "I think that's a great spot for him".

Witten mentioned quarterback play and a chance to contend for a title as reasons why Bryant would gravitate toward the Packers, but it takes two to tango.

"Dez is certainly going to have some great opportunities".
