OnePlus 6 confirmed to launch on May 17

The company, in a post on Weibo, announced that the OnePlus 6 will be unveiled on May 17 at an event in Beijing, China. The lengthy posting aims to highlight the company's "approach to honest design". That's mostly due to their slow-drip "leaks" and today OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has spoken about the upcoming OnePlus 6, and their overall design language. It is also officially confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will have a 256GB ROM option as well.

"OnePlus 6's glass design is centered around creating a "sense of value" and 'premium hand-feel.' As I mentioned at the beginning, people relate deeply to the products they use".

Anyway, the glass back will feature five printed layers of nanotech coating, a first for the industry.

Similar to the launch of its previous smartphones, the OnePlus 5T, has gone out of stock in on Amazon India and the company's online store indicating the imminent launch of the OnePlus 6. So far, the company has already confirmed that the smartphone will have a notch, an all-glass build and design and run on the Snapdragon 845 chipset.

Manufacturers, including Apple and Samsung, have returned to using glass as part of their smartphone design.

"You just copy the fad and put the long story to make it look like you innovated", one critic wrote on the forum. "Moving the module elsewhere would also affect the angle of the camera, making it harder to orient the camera and take photos quickly". It has appeared in almost infinite leaks so far, with OnePlus itself dropping few hints about the smartphone to keep the hype going. "Stop following stupid fads". Pretty much throughout the month of April, OnePlus has been teasing and talking about its next smartphone quite a bit right from defending the decision to go with the notch to teasing its incredible speed. It's more like describing its industrial design and some history of how they chose the materials. "However, good design-truly good design, does not deliberately pursue the exaggeration of the external form". OnePlus 6 is highly expected to come with a 16-megapixel plus 20-megapixel dual rear setup with both sensors having a f/1.7 aperture.
