We're told further testing is needed to confirm the cancer, but she should know for sure in the next day or 2.

Abby Lee Miller has received a troubling medical diagnosis following emergency surgery for what was thought to be a back infection.

Abby Lee was hurried to Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital on Monday night for what Dr. Melamed then perceived to be a unsafe spinal infection.

'Depending on the tumor type, depending on the sensitivity of the tumor - it just depends the type but I feel more than yes, she will undergo chemotherapy or radiation, ' the doctor said.

Abby Lee Miller has a big fight ahead of her, because her recent health struggles are believed to be related to cancer. Instead, her pain is being caused by "a type of cancer".

"Not just her pain, but her weakness started getting worse". As for whether or not she'll be able to walk again, Dr. Hooman M. Melamed claims it depends on how the reality TV star recovers in the days and weeks to come.

"People who have been diagnosed with this have a good prognosis", Dr. Melamed said.

"In the span of 24 hours, which was something that I have not seen, her condition rapidly deteriorated", Melamed told People.

Miller's representative says that the current diagnosis is merely a "preliminary diagnosis pending pathology and oncology results".

According to the doctor, her situation is already life-threatening, and her blood pressure was already critically low.

After serving her 366-day sentence at the Victorville Federal Correctional Institution in California, Miller transferred to a halfway house recently.

Dr. Melamed said they hope to "start mobilizing her, start thinking about the rehab, start pushing the body, pushing the brain and spinal cord for making recovery".

While the final diagnosis is still not out, Miller is now recovering in the ICU, according to Dr. Melamed.

Miller appeared to have been suffering from the infection at the same time, though her thyroid condition had distracted Russo from it.
