The Shadow of the Tomb Raider Teaser Trailer is Here!

Square Enix has released a cinematic trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider today which provides us with a glimpse of the title. Yesterday, we reported that the trailer for the game was already leaked, confirming the rumored title and the platforms on which it would be releasing.

Judging by the teaser, however, it seems we will be visiting South America, and at some point in the game, there will be a solar eclipse.

Of course, the one novelty is the new star, Alicia Vikander, making her full-on action-hero debut after flirting with the idea in 2016's Jason Bourne and 2015's The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Looks like Lara will be a driving force as we head into spring 2018. The game was officially announced this afternoon. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One September 14.

"She's not on top of things when we meet her at the beginning of the film, and that, I think, is what is admirable about her, because she's a woman who doesn't take the easy road", explains Vikander of her character's journey in the film. The game was officially confirmed just in December of a year ago, but according to Gamespot, it took a leak through the official website source code for players to learn this new release date.

What will the next Tomb Raider game be called? Some fleeting scenes suggest her physical prowess, but nothing indicating the wit, skill and intelligence required to be a Croft that goes hunting for tombs, as even young Lara in the video game has been educated with such knowledge.

The fan also enlisted that the information about Shadow of the Tomb Raider that has been revealed through leaks. Rise of the Tomb Raider was initially released only on the Xbox One before it was finally released on the PS4 a year later.

Tomb Raider is barely a half-cooked origin story and mostly coasts by on lazy scriptwriting with too many plot holes to count. Tomb Raider Legends featured a similar setting which means that parts of Shadow of the Tomb Raider could be inspired by Tomb Raider Legend. It could suggest the location of the upcoming game, or it could be completely unrelated. This in-depth discussion will, for the first time, reveal untold stories from development and explore the creative decisions that brought God of War to life on PlayStation 4.
