First Alert 10-Day Forecast: Another cool day on Sunday

A winter weather advisory will be in effect for Henry and Patrick counties and Martinsville from 8 a.m. Saturday through noon Sunday. Clouds should give way and open up to partly sunny skies by the afternoon.

Wind gusts of 15 to 25 miles per hour are also expected with this storm, causing blowing snow, reduced visibility and slippery driving conditions, according to the NWS. We will want to watch out for some tidal flooding at times of high tide, since we'll be dealing with a persistent northeasterly wind.

A light snow fell Wednesday, the second day of spring, and the winter weather may not be over yet. Close to an inch of rain is expected on the Rogue Valley floor by Saturday, Weather Service officials said. However, from the Triangle, we could see a little wintry precipitation. In late March, that angle is higher and allows for more of the suns radiation to make it to the surface of the planet.

Partly cloudy skies with plenty of high level cirrus clouds, will tiresome the sunshine Saturday, while Sunday will become partly to mostly cloudy. Daytime highs will be in the cool 50s and nighttime lows will fall to the upper 30s. It will be breezy with winds out of the northeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour.

Temperatures start to rise once again throughout next week.

Indeed, the temperature was expected to climb into the mid-50s under partly sunny skies Thursday, Hoffman said, adding that it was just in time for the New York Mets home opener that day. From here on through the next few days, we will not have cooler temperatures.

Our weather this weekend is dominated by a chilly flow of air out of Canada.

Parts of northwestern Minnesota could see some rain showers and snow showers Sunday afternoon. Periods of heavy rain will be possible with amounts potentially near an inch into Saturday morning.
