English Premier League Report: Arsenal v Watford 11 March 2018

After three consecutive league defeats, Arsenal bounced back and prevailed over Watford 3-0 in an English Premier League (EPL) game that saw the Gunners' German midfielder Ozil reach a career milestone. The victory was finally sealed 13 minutes from the end, when Aubameyang set up Mkhitaryan for his first EPL goal in an Arsenal shirt.

The win moves Arsenal to within 10 points of Tottenham, ahead of their match against Bournemouth later on Sunday.

Petr Cech has told his Arsenal team-mates not to get carried away with their second win in four days, warning they could easily slip back into the "negative" spiral that has all but wrecked their season.

While Deeney's Watford travel to Liverpool next weekend, Arsenal's attention now turns to Thursday's important Europa League Round of 16 second leg against Milan.

The scoreline was flattering for the home side but Watford only had itself to blame after spurning multiple chances, most notably a penalty miss by captain Troy Deeney. I remember very well every time he refused the biggest clubs to stay at Arsenal.

"We took 18 games [of this season] to get to nine clean sheets, I got to 199 and then had to wait 11 games to get another clean sheet", said Cech.

Arsenal's Petr Cech in action with Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne during their Premier League match at Emirates Stadium, London, March 1, 2018.

"A record like that needs a lot of motivation and a huge level of intelligence because you don't last that long in the game if you're not intelligent".

Patrick Viera believes he could manage Arsenal in the future, but has insisted Arsene Wenger has earned the right to decide when he leaves the club. The Europa league seems to be the only glimmer of hope for a piece of silverware, and a way into the champions league for Arsenal.

"The spirit kept us out of trouble".

The victory followed the 2-0 Europa League win at AC Milan on Thursday, which came after one of the most hard spells of Wenger's tenure as a Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City was followed by league losses to both City and Brighton.
