Air Canada: System-wide outage disrupts airport, aircraft operations

Earlier on Monday, Vancouver International Airport and Calgary International Airport took to Twitter to inform passengers there were technical issues with Air Canada's computer systems nationwide that were causing congestion.

The company said that while the issues have been resolved there will be delays and some cancellations due to the outage and for customers to check prior to going to the airport.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and are working towards restoring our service as quickly as possible", the airline said.

Earlier, Air Canada said in a statement its technology teams were working to identify and fix the issue, and it was also implementing temporary measures to maintain a limited operation. "Thank you for your patience".

People hoping to fly on the airline are advised to check the status of their flights online.

Air Canada customers in foreign airports have also been raising concerns about long lines and check-in delays.

Victoria Airport reported that the customer kiosks are operating again, as of around 11:15 a.m.
