Snapchat update adds GIF stickers and some design changes

Snap has finally responded to the more than 1 million unhappy users who signed an online petition demanding the company reverse its hated redesign. Snapchat had proudly announced this change late previous year, and was hoping that the UI refresh will help it not only retain its users, but help it attract some new ones over. After the users' backlash following Snapchat's redesign, the developers have chose to make some changes that should diminish some of the bad choices they made in the past.

"With the release of the new Snapchat update, many users have found that it has not made the app easier to use, but has in fact made many features more hard", the petition reads.

On the other hand, after the redesigning of app company has been facing a lot of criticism, and with these new features, Snapchat is trying to gain users' interest back. According to Snapchat, the new Friends and Discover tabs will first be available to iOS users, but they will make it to Android as well in the coming weeks. "We completely understand the new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many". Android users have to wait to get this update. During a conference speech last week, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel essentially said "get used it", when discussing the update. Although many users joined groups on the platform opposing the new layout, Facebook did not change it back.

"By putting everything from your friends in one place, our goal was to make it easier to connect with the people you care about most", said Snap in its reply.

Folks who agreed and signed his petition, rather predictably, aren't happy with Snapchat's response. This same personalisation is also true of the new Discover, which will adapt to you the more that you use it. Once you receive the update, you'll be able to sort things like Stories, Group Chats, and Subscriptions, allowing you to further customise your own experience on the app.
