Padmaavat aims to cross Rs 100 crore by weekend

Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, Padmaavat had opened to a lower-than-expected collection due to the protests by Karni Sena, but the film's box office collection bounced back soon.

"It's actually tough to estimate the film's performance or future prospects because you never know what will happen", said film trade and exhibition expert Girish Johar. Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan did not let the film release hence the film is losing on at least 1000 screens out of nearly 5000.

The film did not get any screen in major states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Bihar and Rajasthan.

Despite this massive protest, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's fillm has emerged as true victor on the first day. The opening is better than previous year big films Raees, Jolly LLB 2 and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

"We will not allow anyone to create trouble for screening of "Padmaavat"," Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said. She is like me - a strong, intelligent and elegant woman. After facing so many controversies and death threats, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film finally found a released on January 25, 2018.

Bollywood's leading lady Deepika Padukone celebrated the tremendous box office and critical response garnered by her latest magnum opus Padmaavat while feasting on Rajasthani thali. "The last 15 minutes of the film for my parents were tough. they hate it when I die in films", Deepika said. The film is doing decently based on where it has been releasing, and is reportedly Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh's biggest opening. No wonder then that the actress has organised an impromptu dinner for senior film journalists at the Maharaja Bhog thali restaurant in Juhu on Saturday evening. It is yet to be seen if the market position remains the same on the non-holidays for the film.
