Netflix Resumes Filming Season 6 Of House Of Cards

HOUSE OF CARDS has added Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear to its final season cast, Netflix announced Wednesday.

The release date for season six of House of Cards is yet to be determined. However, as Claire takes her rightful place in the White House in the final moments of Season 5, she looks directly into the camera and says: "My turn".

Robin Wright, who co-starred as wife to Spacey's Francis Underwood, will be the focus of the final season. Spacey and Wright were two of the driving forces behind the show's success, playing a ruthless political couple that coldly ruled D.C. social circles.

In November, Netflix severed ties with the disgraced actor, but said that they would work with the production company to "evaluate a creative path forward" for the show.

The two new stars are reportedly to play siblings on the show, but any more details about the casting have been kept firmly under wraps by Netflix. Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear are in.

Not much else is known about the Oscar-nominated duo's roles on the show, but the fate of Frank and Claire Underwood may be easier to surmise.

PRODUCTION has resumed on the next series of Netflix drama House of Cards.

Wright, who plays Frank's wife, Claire Underwood, has always been considered one of the best parts of the show. She will also appear in the upcoming Amazon series The Romanoffs.

She will be joined by the likes of Michael Kelly (Doug Stamper), Jayne Atkinson (Catherine Durant), Patricia Clarkson (Jane Davis), Constance Zimmer (Janine Skorsky), Derek Cecil (Seth Grayson), Campbell Scott (Mark Usher) and Boris McGiver (Tom Hammerschmidt).

House of Cards will be Lane's first TV series regular gig.

The final season, consisting of eight episodes, will "bring closure of the show for fans", Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos previously told Deadline.
