NBA All-Star Saturday Night

Shaq has his video camera out.

Booker was sensational in the final round, when he missed only five of 25 shots.

Rookie sensation and ex-Cardinal Donovan Mitchell stole the show on All-Star Saturday Night.

It's easy - and free - to play. He caught it and did a one-handed tomahawk dunk as he jumped over his sister, Hart and his son. To be in it, then to win it is just fantastic.

It was a tremendous dunk that earned the first 50 of the night from the judges. Under pressure, Nance pulled off a double tap dunk, impressing the judges and scoring a ideal 50.

Closing out the night are the high flyers who will be participating in the 2018 and 33rd Verizon Slam Dunk contest.

On a college team full of talent - IN center Cody Zeller was drafted No. 4 IN 2013 - Oladipo made the most of the opportunities he received.

It may or may not have been the greatest ever or a transcendent moment in the sport but, at the very least, this year's contest stood shoulder to shoulder with some of the best we've ever seen.

The recently-traded Cavaliers player started his championship round performance with a costume change to the Phoenix Suns jersey of his father, Larry Sr, who was also the inaugural champion of the NBA Slam Dunk contest in 1984.

Booker beat 2016 champion Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors and Tobias Harris of the Los Angeles Clippers.

And even though Nance wasn't born, you can believe his Pops showed him the highlight reel that left Dr. J in the dust, via Ain't happening. Beyond Thompson and Gordon, the next-best bets are Devin Booker and Paul George.

As for last night, it was just another exactly of how dynamic Nance can be. "You don't want to be tense when you shoot that ball".

They might not have carried everyone to victory, but here are the best dunks from this year's competition.

"I have a feeling we're going to see some things we've never seen before from a guy that's 6'3", head coach Rick Carlisle said.

Smith has nixed a trip that he had planned back to North Carolina. Then again, Larry Bird did it in the final round of the '86 contest - on goal. That's what big men like him need to do in the contest to win.

The last time it was here a man jumped over a auto and dunked a basketball. Really anything Joel Embiid-related is a win for all involved.

At the 2015 Slam Dunk Contest, Oladipo walked out for his first dunk while singing "New York, New York" in a full tuxedo.

Larry Nance Jr. will represent the Cavaliers in the dunk contest while Victor Oladipo, LeBron's other choice, is on #TeamLeBron for the All-Star Game.

Louisville fans hope Mitchell follows in the footsteps of the electrifying Griffith, who won the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1981 with the Jazz.
