Jimmy Butler helped off court after suffering apparent leg injury in Houston

Jimmy Butler had to leave the Timberwolves' 120-102 loss to the Houston Rockets in the third quarter with an apparent right-knee injury.

The Timberwolves trailed the Rockets 68-79 at that juncture of the game, and are fighting to leave Houston with a win, albeit without their best player. He dished to a teammate, then crumpled to the floor in pain, holding his knee. He appeared to avoid putting weight on his right leg when heading to the locker room.

Butler was seen hopping on one foot in the Toyota Center hallway as he headed to get an X-ray.

"Just hopeful that it's not bad", said Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau.

Butler suffered the injury while pivoting in the lane after an offensive rebound. Entering Friday night, Butler led the league in minutes per game, but sat out the All-Star Game to rest his body.

Butler told an ESPN reporter on Friday he'd like to play Williams 1-on-1 for a $100,000 winner-take-all prize.
