Bollywood actress Sridevi passed away at age 54 due to cardiac arrest

Legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi who shot to national fame with Bhaaratiraja's 1977 runaway hit Pathinaru Vayadhinile and rose to become a legendary name in Indian cinema, passed away late Saturday night succumbing to a massive cardiac arrest in Dubai.

Along with her husband Boney and younger daughter Khushi, Sridevi had travelled to the emirate to attend actor Mohit Marwah's wedding.

Well-wishers are now rushing to Sridevi's house in Mumbai to be with Janhvi. Very saddened and pained by her demise. Singers Adnan Sami and Yo Yo Honey Singh also expressed shock and dismay.

Sridevi Kapoor (born 13 August 1963) was an Indian film actress and producer who has starred in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada films. She began working in films as a child.

Her moving performance in Sadma alongside Kamal Hassan is still considered to be incomparable to any of her other works in Bollywood. Due to her pan-Indian appeal, she's considered to be one of the most popular actresses of Indian cinema.

She immortalised dance numbers such as 'Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyaan' and 'Hawaa Hawaai'.
She acted with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth and many more superstars but always held her own on screen.

Sridevi is known for beauty all over the country with her talent. A marriage that is said to have lasted three years. The two of them married in 1996 and Sridevi took a break from films.

She is survived by husband Boney Kapoor and daughters, Khushi and Janhavi Kapoor. Sridevi made a comeback to films in 2012 with English Vinglish, which was both a critical as well as commercial success. As the news of her death broke, Twitter was soon flooded with condolences and many of her fans refused to believe the shocking news.
