World's Regard For US Leadership Hits Record Low In Gallup Poll

That poll showed that Trump has averaged just a 39% approval rating since his inauguration.

The US rating is down almost 20 points from the 48% approval rating in the previous year of President Barack Obama's administration, Gallup said.

"This year marks a significant change in our trends", wrote Gallup's managing partner, Jon Clifton. The new figures mark the first time since 2007 that more global residents disapproved of US leadership than approved of it (the figures were equivalent in 2008, each at 34 percent).

Muscle is nearly 20 per cent denser than fat, meaning people with defined bodies can weigh the same as, or more than, people the same height who aren't in such good shape.

The latest study confirms some of the worst fears of foreign policy analysts in the U.S. and Europe that Trump's "America first" approach, combined with his volatile and irascible personality, is weakening cohesion among western democracies in the face of a growing challenge from autocracies in Russian Federation and China, and the rise of illiberal democracies and xenophobic nationalism inside Europe. On Thursday, Gallup released findings of surveys of residents of other countries, and the results are stunning.

Do not expect US President Donald Trump to hit the gym, despite his doctor's orders. "Nonetheless, the approval rating for the region is at its lowest level yet, clinging to a bare majority (51 percent) that may be at risk after the president's alleged remarks about the continent last week". Some of the biggest losses were among Washington's closest allies in western Europe, Australia and Latin America.

"Our best friend Canada has been impacted by this administration's immigration policy, environmental policy and trade policy". Lee told Lemon that his parents came to the United States at ages 18 and 26. In Canada, approval dropped 40 points from 60 percent in 2016 to 20 percent in 2017, while in Mexico, approval dropped 28 points from 44 percent approval in 2016 to 16 percent approval in 2017. Eighty-nine percent approved of Trump when he took the Oath of Office a year ago, and Republican approval did not dip below 77 percent since then, according to Gallup's tracking numbers.

Despite raging controversy over Chancellor Angela Merkel's handling of the European migrant crisis, Germany chalked up the highest approval rating with 41 percent. However, the report adds: "It's important to note that Russians' ratings are heading in a positive direction for the first time in years; the current rating is up six points from 2% in 2016".

According to recent polls, US voter confidence in his temperament, leadership strength and ability to unite Americans have fallen, at times sharply, since a year ago.

The Trump administration's decision last month unilaterally to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital may have won him support in that country, but resulted in overwhelming worldwide condemnation.

Germany now tops the poll as the country with the most trusted leadership, above the US, China and Russian Federation.
