Instagram has added GIFs to Stories-more fun ways to express yourself

Today they have added the ability to use GIF stickers with stories. The photo-sharing app says users will be able to add as many stickers as they'd like to their Stories. Through GIPHY integration, hundreds of thousands of stickers will be featured in the Instagram app, ranging from animals, food, superheroes and celebrities like Toronto-born rapper Drake.

To use this new feature, a user may tap to add a sticker to a photo or video in stories, following the usual procedure.

These stickers are provided by GIPHY, which is a service you'll be familiar with if you like to send GIFs through Facebook Messenger. The update of GIF stickers in Stories was shard in a blog post. In the next few weeks, you'll also be able to upload any size of photo or video. In the past, images and videos would automatically adjust to the size of the screen, regardless of how you cropped ahead of time. When adding a landscape or bigger photo to your Instagram Stories, pinch it to bring it to its original dimensions (or any dimension you want). For Instagram lovers, this feature will make their stories more cheerful and lively.

Instagram stories now include GIF stickers.

Force quit the Instagram app and reopen it.

Alternatively, you can search for "Word Art" to get fancy words in the form of a GIF; or even search for "Emoji" to get some special emoji packs. The company also announced that it will soon launch a feature to help with posting content with different aspect ratios.

If you love using GIFs, you can start adding by using the newly added option. Instagram will then fill in the remaining space with a color gradient that matches the image uploaded.
