In addition to assessing Trump's physical health, Jackson also gave Trump a cognitive assessment, screening him for neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's and finding him to be mentally "sharp".

President Donald Trump is in excellent overall health and achieved a flawless score on a cognitive test that the president requested as part of his first formal medical exam since taking office, the White House's top physician announced Tuesday.

"We talked about diet and exercise a lot", Dr. Jackson said during the briefing.

Beck Bennett stepped in for the role of Dr. Ronny Jackson to discuss Trump's physical examination results. Jackson said Trump requested a cognitive exam to put the issue of his mental fitness to rest.

"Secretions might have dried up temporarily due to him taking Sudafed [a brand of decongestant]", said Jackson.

Trump requested he take the test as part of his recent physical and is the first president to do so. Jackson said there is "absolutely nothing" that is being withheld from the public and that Trump's release of information is "hands down" the broadest in history.

Trump's doctor fields a question about the President that many are asking.

The NBC variety show opened its episode Saturday night with Aidy Bryant's White House press secretary Sarah Sanders greeting the press corps by first mentioning Saturday's Women's March.

Aides told CNN that Trump considers the Yellow Oval his real office and will summon select staffers, including Chief of Staff John Kelly, family members and top advisers Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, along with his Communications Director Hope Hicks, the president's long-serving political aide.

At the end of the day, when the president is back in the residence and Kelly - an ex-military man who has tried to instill order in Trump's West Wing - has gone home, Trump spends his time calling and gabbing with old friends, former aides and even television personalities.

Many do not believe Trump weighs 239 pounds, suggesting he weighs more than the announced weight. He said Trump should ideally lose 10-15 pounds and that he'll work with him on eating better and actually exercising beyond golf.

Jackson said that Trump's cholesterol level has jumped to 223, in the elevated range, and his low-density lipoprotein of 143 is borderline high, so he is increasing Trump's medication.

"He's more enthusiastic about the diet part than the exercise part", he joked.

"His cardiac performance during his physical exam was very good, he continues to enjoy the significant, long-term cardiac and overall health benefits that come from a lifetime of abstinence from tobacco and alcohol", Jackson said. "I don't know", Jackson said.
