However, Apple says that it has already released mitigations in iOS 11.2 that protect iPhone units, iPod touches and iPad tablets from Meltdown.

Mac users have often believed that their devices and operating systems are less vulnerable to security issues than, for example Android phones or computers running Microsoft systems.

Apple admitted Friday that all iPhones, iPads and Mac computers worldwide are affected by the Spectre and Meltdown processor security flaws but said no customers so far had been affected. "Analysis of these techniques revealed that while they are extremely hard to exploit, even by an app running locally on a Mac or iOS device, they can be potentially exploited in JavaScript running in a web browser", Apple said.

However, Apple Watch may not be affected by "Meltdown" since an Intel chip isn't used in that device. As such, Apple will be rolling out an update for Safari, both on macOS and iOS, to mitigate it.

Apple hasn't issued any fixes that would specifically address the Spectre exploit. Now Apple has also issued a statement on the same saying all Macs and iOS devices are impacted by this security flaw.

Just a day after the disclosure of the deadly Spectre, Meltdown bugs in Intel, AMD and ARM-based processor chips, Apple has revealed that their all devices (iOS and macOS), which come integrated with one of the aforementioned branded chips are also vulnerable to the security breach.

"All Mac systems and iOS devices are affected, but there are no known exploits impacting customers at this time", the company said.

Meltdown concerns laptops, desktop computers and internet servers that have Intel chips, and allows a rogue programme to access the memory and other secrets of programs and the operating system contained in the CPU.

"Check with your operating system vendor or system manufacturer and apply any available updates as soon as they are available", the company said.

Researchers at Google's Project Zero and academic institutions and discovered the issues previous year and disclosed them this week.

Cloud administrations possessed by Amazon, Microsoft, and Google itself have additionally been utilizing Project Zero's examination to make and issue patches for their servers, while numerous other littler cloud suppliers who had not been beforehand told about the defect are now scrambling to fix their machines.
