Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt was selected as the 2017 Rookie of the Year Tuesday by the Professional Football Writers of America. It was Hekker and Donald's third straight year making the team, making them two of five players to earn the honor in three straight seasons or more.

Harrison Butker joined Hunt as the only other Chiefs player named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

The Saints had an NFL-high four players named to the All-Rookie team including Co-Offensive Player of the Year Alvin Kamara, who led all rookies with 14 touchdowns.

Former general manager John Dorsey moved up to pick Hunt via trade in the third round and later explained that he believed there was a significant drop off in talent in the draft after Hunt's name came off the board from the running backs category.

Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore was announced the Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Undrafted punter Justin Vogel might have had the best case of the Packers' rookie class, but Indianapolis Colts rookie punter Rigoberto Sanchez produced a better gross punting average and net punting average and more punts inside the 20-yard line.

He is the first Chiefs player to win the award.

Hunt was the NFL's leading rusher with 1,327 yards this season. He received the NFL's offensive rookie of the month award in both September and December.
