Ex-wife of slain National Basketball Association participant Lorenzen Wright is arrested

According to ESPN, the arrest of Wright-Robinson came after the December 5 indictment of Turner in the former basketball player's death. He has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

Sherra Wright, ex-wife of Lorenzen Wright, cries during a memorial service honoring the life of Lorenzen Wright in 2010.

On July 19, 2010, Lorenzen Wright's cellphone called 911 from a field in Memphis. The next day, police received a phone call from Lorenzen Wright's cell phone, but it was interrupted by gunfire, according to Shelby County District Attorney's Office. She has been charged with conspiracy, first-degree murder and criminal attempt first-degree murder, Memphis police Director Michael Rallings said in announcing the charges Saturday. "We'll leave it at that", he said, adding that the investigation is still ongoing and to implore anyone with information about this seven-year-old case to come forward.

Wright's body was found in a field near some woods in the height of summer, complicating the investigation because evidence had likely deteriorated in the heat.

Police are working to get her extradited back to Memphis.

The superseding indictment adds some detail to what prosecutors and investigators believe led to Lorenzen Wright's death in July 2010.

Sherra Wright was arrested in Riverside on Friday night and charged with first-degree murder, court records show.

Sherra Wright said in the days following the discovery of her ex-husband's body that she had last seen him the night he disappeared and that he had left to meet with others.

She hadn't held a job in 17 years and was almost $3 million in debt, Mathes said.

Fox 13 in Memphis reported that Sherra Wright was arrested in California.

She's also accused of attempted first-degree murder for what authorities say was an earlier attempt to kill her husband, Lorenzen Wright, according to the Commercial Appeal.

Relatives of slain former National Basketball Association player Lorenzen Wright pray during a candlelight vigil in his honor on Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Memphis, Tenn.
