Nehls, who is considering a bid for Congress in 2018, later deleted the Facebook post.

Fonseca was scheduled to hold a press conference Monday with Texas State Representative Ron Reynolds at the Fort Bend County Justice Center.

CBS News affiliate KHOU-TV reports Karen Fonseca made headlines after Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls threatened to arrest her for displaying the anti-Trump sticker.

"The Sheriff made the post on his Personal page ".

"If you know who owns this truck or it is yours, I would like to discuss it with you", Nehls wrote.

The post showed a picture of a decal on the back of a truck that read "F**k Trump and F**k you for voting for him".

Last week, Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls suggested in a Facebook post that the owner of the truck bearing the remark could be arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after the sheriff's office received complaints about it.

Fronseca, who was soon arrested for unrelated charges after coming forward, said she is overwhelmed with mixed emotions as the situation unfolds.

Following her release from prison, Fonseca posted a photo on Facebook on Sunday of the new message on her truck.

His threat raised alarm among free speech advocates - and caused the Republican sheriff to retreat: The Facebook post was gone by Thursday, and the sheriff said he was done talking about the matter after receiving hateful messages. "We are getting more positive than negative but at the same time I feel it was went about in the wrong way and the sticker fits appropriately", says Karen Fonseca.

"We have to protect people's First Amendment right to free speech", Reynolds said in his written statement.

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls threatened to charge a driver with disorderly conduct November 15 because of a profanity-laced anti-Trump sticker. Then, over the weekend, Fonseca struck back in her own way, adding another decal to her white GMC Sierra: "FUCK TROY NEHLS AND FUCK YOU FOR VOTING FOR HIM".

"A lot of females say I wish I had the balls to do that", she said. "He has professional detectives under his employment who could have easily found Mrs. Fonseca if they needed to find her". "A difference in political views does not give Sheriff Nehls the right to target citizens".

On Monday, Fonseca said she won't remove the profane anti-Trump display.
