The Samsung Galaxy S8 just got the ultimate Black Friday price drop

The two phones are said to be almost identical in appearance to their predecessors - to borrow a term, this will clearly be a "tock" model year. Ahead of the official launch, a new report coming from ET News claims that Samsung Galaxy S9 lineup will boast the similar hardware setup and basic specs but the difference will be in the software department, Gadget360.

We still have time to see whether Samsung's new Galaxy S flagships debut at CES or not as it's not even December yet and I still have turkey to eat.

However, Samsung is reportedly taking these reports very seriously and planning to leave no stone unturned to fetch an enhanced iris scanner for its upcoming flagship device - Galaxy S9. The phone is also believed to arrive with a vertical dual-lens camera just above the fingerprint reader.

The renders included below, courtesy of BGR, were released by smartphone case manufacturer Ghostek and give us a sense of what we can expect from the new phone. Yes, the Galaxy S9 will come with two cameras at the back, and they will be vertically oriented.

That's the deal, but what about the Samsung Galaxy S8?

Talking about the internals, the Galaxy S9 might be powered by Samsung's Exynos 9810 SoC and the Snapdragon 845 SoC. Qualcomm is expected to unveil the Samsung-made Snapdragon 845 SoC next month, which will replace the current high-end Snapdragon 835 SoC.

The Galaxy S9+ will boast 6GB of RAM compared to the 4GB expected on the Galaxy S9. Both will have 64GB of available storage and, according to VentureBeat, retain their 3.5mm headphone jacks.
