Breezy, cold night with temps in the mid 20s; chilly, sunny Thanksgiving

Monday's outlook is sunny with a high in the mid 50s.

A cold front that arrived on Tuesday will clear skies out leading up to Thanksgiving. Temperatures will warm up to the low to mid 70s for the high, then will cool down to the upper 40s to the low 50s during the overnight hours. "Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!", the weather service's Mount Holly office said in a Facebook post.

Through the rest of the day, expect more sunshine with a continued north wind between 10 and 15 miles per hour. I'm expecting overnight lows to drop around the seasonal upper 20s. The high is likely to climb to around 65, with winds gusting as high as 30 miles per hour. This could come with a few snow showers in the mountains. That evening, skies will be mostly clear, with lows dipping to around 30. But by the time we head into the weekend, we'll warm up a little bit ahead of another shot of colder air. So Sunday's highs are expected to fall back into the mid 40s with wind chill values down in the 30s.

High pressure will once again build atop the region for Monday allowing the breezes to back down and lead to mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures in the upper 40s.

As the rain exits, cold will move in.

Saturday: Sun and clouds, milder.

Overall, a quiet stretch of weather is expected next week.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies continue for "Black Friday", with a high of 56 degrees. Indeed, our First Alert Extended Outlook only offers a slight chance of rain next Wednesday, and that is current set at a mere 20 percent.
