Are the LA Clippers' hopes of extending their playoff streak to seven consecutive years already dashed?

Griffin was on his way to another dominant game, finishing with 26 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Injuries have completely derailed this team's season and could even change how they approach the next couple of seasons. If not, they have some tough decisions ahead.

"It didn't look good, obviously", Clippers coach Doc Rivers told reporters.

Blake Griffin drives to the basket earlier in Monday night's game against the Lakers.

Williams' career high is 44 points.

After the game, the Clippers said that Griffin would get further evaluation Tuesday.

As ESPN's Bobby Marks noted, help may not be on the way unless the Clippers are willing to pay the luxury tax.

Although Beverley won't return, the Clippers will at some point get Gallinari and Teodosic back from their injuries, supplying some needed shot creation.

Los Angeles forward Blake Griffin has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his left knee and is expected to miss some time, NBA Insider David Aldridge reported.

It was his third 40-plus point game and the first time a Clipper had scored at least that much since Griffin had 43 on February 26 at Charlotte.

Since being drafted by the Clippers in 2009, Griffin has been injured numerous times in his National Basketball Association career. The Clippers are also in a bad spot - after starting 5-2, they lost nine straight before rebounding with wins in their last three games.

The elder Rivers and Williams both thought Griffin got fouled on the play. Griffin fell onto his back in pain. Last season, Griffin played in just 61 games after an injury and issue plagued 2015-2016 season limited him to just 35 games.
