Commenting on the inclusion of OBC leader Alpesh Thakor to Congress, Patel claimed that the opposition party is desperately looking for a new leadership to campaign for them, and cited this as the reason for Rahul Gandhi's visit to Gujarat.

"The allegations are very serious and the finger of suspicion points to the Gujarat BJP chief".

The Congress on Monday demanded a judicial investigation by a sitting High Court judge into the allegation raised by Narendra Patel, a Patidar quota agitation leader, that the BJP offered him Rs. 1 crore to join the party.

The chief minister confidently said that the Congress party is tipped for huge defeat in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly election.

Reacting to the revelations of Narendra Patel, the Patidar leader on Monday took a dig at the BJP in a chain of tweets.

Since speculations of Patidar leader Hardik Patel meeting Congress Rahul Gandhi and joining the party are making rounds political atmosphere in Gujarat has since then heated up with now the sessions court issuance of non-bailable warrant against Hardik.

Earlier, Hardik had turned down the Congress' invitation to fight the Gujarat Assembly election jointly, saying the polls were not a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Congress fight.

"Growth may be a joke for Congress, but it is vital to the BJP", said Rupani. Hardik Patel's burgeoning reputation has drawn him influential admirers and many are vying to tie him into an affiliation.
