Browns will have scouting presence at MI vs. Penn State

Saquon Barkley's Heisman Trophy candidacy took an impressive step Saturday as the star junior led No. 2-ranked Penn State to a 42-13 home win over rival MI.

McSorley had a nice first half, and his touchdown sent the Lions into the break with a 21-13 lead.

Moorehead got the best of his counterpart early on by mixing in a direct snap to Barkley, which worked out with a 69-yard touchdown run to get the game going.

Senior quarterback Trace McSorley also had an impressive performance, throwing for 282 yards through the air, including one passing touchdown and three rushing. If Barkley can be the star in Columbus and again when Penn State travels to Michigan State on Nov. 4, then he will clinch the Heisman before November is even over. Just like Penn State had a week off to prepare for a revenge game at home, Ohio State will be coming off a bye week to prepare for their own revenge game at home against the only team to hand them a loss in the regular season a year ago.

Penn State's Heisman Trophy frontrunner took a snap in the Wildcat formation on the second play of the game and dashed 69 yards for a touchdown to spark an early flurry that propelled the second-ranked Nittany Lions to a 42-13 victory over No. 19 MI before a record crowd of 110,823.

Revenge may also be on the minds of numerous Nittany Lions. That's when Penn State took control for good with a seven-play, 75-yard drive just before halftime, in which McSorley completed big passes to DaeSean Hamilton and Mike Gesicki. Penn State Head Coach James Franklin says the atmosphere will be electric. Barkley later put the score out of reach with a juggling 42-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter.

And now we advance to what could be the game of the year in the Big Ten, with no disrespect meant to the fine folks in Madison, Wisconsin. That's why Penn State looks like a team fully capable of defending the Big Ten championship. A third straight third-place finish in the Big Ten East is questionable.
