Arsenal snatch late win in Belgrade

Arsenal themselves nearly found a breakthrough in the first half with Egypt worldwide Mohamed Elneny's cross finding Olivier Giroud but his header went wide.

Theo Walcott had two early chances as Arsenal dominated in the early periods of the game but he was unable to convert them.

Following a typical pre-match offering, Red Star's fans bucked tradition and unfurled another huge banner for the start of the second half, but it could not lift the stodgy fare on the pitch.

They now top their group with nine points from their first three fixtures.

And former United star Keane believes Arsenal are struggling to keep up with their Premier League rivals. They were risky on set pieces, but thanks to some good saves from Petr Cech and some desperate defending Arsenal survived without conceding.

Giroud got himself on the scoresheet with another sensational strike.

"We obviously want to win every single game, and we've played two away games, and this is very nice for the future", Giroud said. His blind back pass across Arsenal's goal was intercepted by Radonjic, but Cech pushed the shot over the bar. Milan Rodic was shown what seemed like a harsh second yellow card after going up for a header with Francis Coquelin. Hopefully then, most of the action will be at the other end and with a strong attack of Walcott and Giroud with Jack Wilshere to create chances we should have plenty of potency up front.

A late goal from veteran striker Aritz Aduriz prevented a second consecutive defeat for the 2012 finalists, who are third in Group J on two points, four behind second-placed Zorya and five behind leaders Ostersund.
