In return, Seattle will send wide receiver Jermaine Kearse and a 2018 second-round draft pick to NY. Kearse's addition should drive back Anderson's fantasy value, but not by much.

Multiple NFL franchises have already pulled off trades for players likely to be cut this week, and Seattle's front office is clearly trying to get value for players unlikely to be on their roster at the start of the regular season. Richardson's off-field transgressions might have hurt his standing the most. he was suspended the first four games of the 2015 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy and was suspended for the 2016 opener as a result of a street-racing incident that summer.

He won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks after the 2013 season, catching four passes for 65 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown catch, in Seattle's 43-8 victory over the Broncos at MetLife Stadium. The two teams will also be swapping seventh-round picks in the 2018 draft, according to ESPN.

Richardson's fate in NY was likely sealed after the Jets drafted Leonard Williams sixth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2014.

The Seahawks have reportedly found their replacement for injured second-round pick Malik McDowell on the defensive line - and it was apparently a long time coming.

The Seahawks won't be taking a huge financial risk by adding Richardson, who's headed into the final year of his rookie deal.

Seattle was poised to make a move after restructuring wide receiver Doug Baldwin's contract earlier on Friday. Richardson, a first-round pick in 2013, is only 26 years old and a tremendous talent. At worst, the Seahawks will have Richardson for at least one year.

When Kearse arrives at the Jets Florham Park, N.J. facility, he will instantly be the team's top option at receiver, especially since Quincy Enunwa is lost for the season due to a neck injury.
