Manchester City aim to remain top of table against winless Crystal Palace

Manchester City will be hungry and determined for a victory as they welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad stadium on Saturday.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been cleared of serious injury following tests on his left knee, the club have reported.

However, rotation could be an option ahead of a big Champions League week with Leroy Sane bagging two in the Carabao Cup game against West Brom.

"The injury situation is OK", Guardiola said. "Guendogan we will see after training today (Friday)".

City's Gabriel Jesus has scored four goals in his last three Premier League games, giving him 11 goals in 15 games in the competition since making his debut on January 21.

But Palace are used to pulling off upsets - they looked doomed last season before beating Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manchester City are flying high and Palace are simply not strong enough to put up a strong fight, especially since it will be a home game for Guardiola's men.

"But it is important that we are there; my only regret last season is that we were not able to fight until the end".

"It's good and I'll try to help him score more and more goals and (spend) a long time here". We are humble and we fight like a normal team.

"I showed to my players all the chances they created in just two games".

Sergio Aguero, who earlier this season became the Premier League's all-time leading scorer among players born outside of Europe, has scored four goals for City in his last two league games - including a hat trick against Watford on September 16. The same could be said for the weekend before when they succumbed to Burnley 1-0 in a game they really should have taken at least a point from. Second balls, crosses, set pieces.
