Is Sri Lanka vs India series Lasith Malinga's swansong?

India Test squad: Virat Kohli (capt), Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Sharma, Abhinav Mukund, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav.

In reply, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 207 with more than seven overs to spare.

Rohit Sharma scored his second consecutive century against Sri Lanka, Manish Pandey scored an unbeaten fifty and MS Dhoni fell one short of his own in his 300th ODI. "The start was really important for us. We were just watching the ball and that is the thing we could do with the amount of energy we had left in us", Virat Kohli said. "That's what made us reach 375 with those initial boundaries" Pandey said.

The fifth ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Kusal Mendis (1) was run out with the score on 26-2 and Dilshan Munaweera was caught behind for 11, leaving Sri Lanka 37-3.

When and where will the fifth ODI between India and Sri Lanka be played?

Sri Lanka on Thursday succumbed to their sixth straight ODI defeat and Lasith Malinga hoped his team will make a comeback in the next match.

"The endeavour will be to rotate the players giving everyone enough opportunity so that when we have 12-15 months to go for the World Cup, we have a nucleus of about 18-20 players in place".

Malinga was less than impressed with his side's performance, and said: "300th wicket is just a number".

"They tried their best but they don't have the confidence to play their natural game".

The pair consolidated the innings with a brisk partnership that took just 168 deliveries.

Kohli was in sublime form and, having set the tone with a hat-trick of fours against Vishwa Fernando early on, needed only 76 balls to bring up his 29th ODI century.

He dismissed India skipper Virat Kohli to enter the elite "300 Club" which also features Muttiah Muralitharan (534), Wasim Akram (502), Waqar Younis (416), Chaminda Vaas (400), Shahid Afridi (395), Shaun Pollock (393), Glenn McGrath (381), Brett Lee (380), Anil Kumble (337), Sanath Jayasuriya (323), Javagal Srinath (315) and Daniel Vettori (305).

"If you keep performing and you keep playing better, then maybe you come one up in the order". However, the visitors lost the plot with a couple of quick wickets and the recovery took about five-six overs which is where Sri Lanka chipped in with a couple of maidens.

He also shared 101 runs with Manish Pandey (50 not out) after the visitors were reduced to 274 for five.
