Dave Chappelle Wins His First Emmy Award, For SNL Appearance

"I think we should share", Spicer told The Blast Tuesday after the site asked him about McCarthy winning the award best guest actress on a comedy series at the Creative Emmy Arts Awards Sunday night.

Both were on hand to accept their awards, while Chappelle and McCarthy skipped the event.

On Sunday, Dave Chappelle won the Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, his first ever Emmy, for his guest spot on Saturday Night Live on November 12, just after the election. "I'm out [of the White House] first, so hopefully I did", Spicer said, adding there were "a couple times" that Trump and staff members got together in his office to watch and laugh at the comedy sketches.

Actress Melissa McCarthy went viral with sketches in which she spoofed Spicer on "Saturday Night Live", and won an Emmy on Sunday for the skits.

Her performances also had real-life consequences.

The main Emmy ceremony airs on September 17 on CBS.

Other winners include Alexis Bledel (best guest actress in a drama series for The Handmaid's Tale) and Gerald McRaney (best guest actor in a drama for This Is Us).

"I've been looking for something like this for a long time".

Despite giving audiences one of the best comedy series to hit TV, Dave Chappelle was never an Emmy award victor until now.
