A commander for the U.S. Navy said divers located the remains in a flooded compartment.

The collision came two months after USS Fitzgerald was badly damaged in a collision on June 17 that killed seven sailors off the coast of Japan.

The McCain collision marks the fourth incident involving a US Navy warship in the Pacific this year.
