Siemian, Lynch share top quarterback spot in Broncos' first depth chart

The Denver Broncos will start Trevor Siemian at quarterback in their preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Thursday, NFL Network's James Palmer reported.

The position battle remains "unsettled", according to Robinson, but it certainly doesn't sound too competitive, as "Lynch has lost every single practice session to Siemian".

After starting out training camp strong, Lynch began making more and more mistakes with each new wrinkle the staff installed on offense.

Siemian will start in the first game against the Bears. It's also reporter Lynch will start the Broncos' second preseason game against the 49ers.

The Broncos' first exhibition will kick off at 6:00 p.m. MDT at Soldier Field in Chicago. "I want to get to the games so we can get to the bottom of this". The games matter. The games start Thursday. Then-coach Gary Kubiak announced Siemian as the Week 1 starter shortly after that, and Sanchez was soon released.

"I think it's just progressing and getting better day in and day out, " Lynch said.

"I think Trevor's earned that much, you know, to be the first guy out", Joseph said.

While offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said everything is being factored into the equation, from questions the two QBs ask in the film room to the way they led the team at practice over the first 11 days of training camp, "you really look at the games". "I just felt comfortable ... getting going and also getting a feel for all the guys".

Both quarterbacks have found some tough football sledding against the Broncos' defensive starters, a group that includes four defensive backs who've been to the Pro Bowl over the last two seasons to go with a five-time Pro Bowl selection in Von Miller. He played in three games, passing for 497 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
