Rain chances back up this weekend

Southwest winds will range from 5 to 10 miles per hour with a 50 percent chance of rain.

Tonight: Clear, moonlit sky, cooler with lows in the 50's.

The start of next weekend on Saturday will be another wet day. Temperatures will slowly recover as the week progresses, and although the coverage of rain and thunderstorms should decrease some, we still expect daily thunderstorms to develop across the area. Temperatures this morning got off to a attractive start in the upper 60s and low 70s, and right now not looking too bad. In fact, we see a break from the humidity for the entire weekend. This is our most likely shot at rain in the forecast. That combined with the potential for some sun in spots will destabilize the atmosphere and produce more storms this afternoon.

A cold front is nearing the area from the northwest, and that front will kick off scattered showers and storms for our Friday and Friday evening. Right now, it looks like rain chances will tick higher by the end of the week. Additional showers may try to redevelop during the afternoon along a cold front that will be pushing southeast through the area. The average high predicted for the next few days will be closer to 90 degrees.

Thursday and Friday will have rain chances stay at 30% with more isolated showers.

Lows for Saturday morning will be warm, stopping around 80 near coastal regions and mid 70s inland. This will usher in a week of unsettled weather across the Midlands.

Again, best chances across western and northern OK later today and this evening. This one is located a little off the coast of Africa.
