With the new season just one week away, Arsenal fans will be hoping that they can have a better season this year and ensure that they don't miss out on the Champions League places again.

Unlike in the FA Cup final when they took an early lead through Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal found themselves a goal down in the Community Shield before summer signing Kolasinac levelled eight minutes from time.

The game will also provide an opportunity for the Stamford Bridge faithful to potentially get a glimpse of some of their summer signings, with the Blues adding Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger to their already star-studded contingent.

Arsenal last won the Community Shield in 2015 against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

"I will always play a team that has a good chance to win the next game".

"Well, I don't know if it was a sending off or not, but at that moment, we were dominating", Wenger said.

Football in England will kick-off after 2-month long break with the Community Shield final, which is traditionally played between English Premier League champions and FA Cup winners.

Arsene Wenger made a plea for unity to the Arsenal fanbase after another Wembley success against Premier League champions Chelsea in the Community Shield.

Pedro's red card was definitely a turning point as Wenger's side began to get the upper hand, but despite having the numerical advantage, Arsenal were taken to penalties by Conte's men.

However, the first half was quite physical, with both teams taking the game seriously. "We tried to improve our physical condition also because in six days we have to start the league, but now the most important thing is to continue to work and to try to improve our team".

"We have had some bad starts recently in the last four years in the first game of the Premier League".

"I would say that Chelsea look like they have kept the basis of 95 per cent of their squad". We must improve our team via the transfer window. I had him on text saying he'd come back as soon as possible.

Both players have been prominent fixtures in their club's pre-season games and should expect to play some part, at the very least, in the final friendly fixture before the season kicks off in earnest.
