Zoo officials say Fiona, Bibi and Henry were united in the Hippo Cove outdoor pool Tuesday morning before the zoo opened.

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden posted the "family reunion" photo on their Facebook page and said, "We've never been more excited about a post!"

On July 7, the zoo said she caught up to the progress of a baby hippo born at full term, a major milestone for the mammal.

Born six weeks early in January at a measly 29 pounds, the hippo has gone on to thrive at the park. Henry hippo is now tipping the scales at right around 3400 lbs (literally 10 times Fiona's size) and it would be extremely easy for Henry to injure Fiona if he wanted to. "Bibi was protective of Fiona and gave Henry cues about how to interact appropriately with the little one".

"It has taken nearly six months to reach this major milestone, and it feels great", said Gorsuch.

We're glad that after months of growing, Fiona is finally getting to a place where she can be reunited with her family. The normal range is 55-120 pounds. And they posed for the cutest family pic we've seen so far this summer. Fiona's dad weighs about 10 times what she weighs - 375 pounds - so there were some welfare concerns.

It is the first time she gets to meet her father, Henry, outdoors since her birth in January of this year.
