Fassone hints AC Milan could hold Donnarumma to contract

They look to cash him in for some money while they still can.

This decision makes us sad but we're keep going forward.

Gianluigi Donnarumma must publically explain why he will not be signing a new contract with AC Milan, says two-time European Cup winning goalkeeper Giovanni Galli.

"Raiola informed me of the player's decision not to extend his contract with AC Milan", explained Fassone. Ter Stegen has the trust of the fans and the club, and Netherlands worldwide Jasper Cillessen is also considered a dependable back-up option.

Donnarumma, who has been Milan's starter ever since a surprise debut at the age of 16, is only under contract until 2018 and could leave as a free agent if a sale is not agreed soon.

"He might not even be the first choice elsewhere, because he still hasn't proved that he is a great goalkeeper". His next game against Sassuolo in the final of the TIM Trophy saw him save two penalties in the shootout to secure Milan's victory. The offer on the table was a healthy €4.5 million per annum but with the club breaking records in their summer spending, it is not hard to understand why Raiola will have been wanting a little more for the most exciting goalkeeper in Europe.

Milan offered Donnarumma a five-year contract with a salary of 4.5 million euros and bonuses for success.

Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny last week agreed to a deal to join Juventus and serve as Buffon's understudy for one year before succeeding him next term.

Real are apparently interested in his services as their chase for Manchester United's David De Gea has stalled again.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has offers from real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

It has sparked a transfer battle as some of Europe's top clubs have reportedly been linked to keeper. Will Donnarumma already know his next destination before making his decision with AC Milan?
