Benintendi hits 2 HRs to help Red Sox beat Orioles 7-3

He went on to have a rough outing in Boston's 7-5 loss to the Orioles, giving up seven runs on eight hits - four of which here home runs - in 5 ⁄3 innings pitched.

Boston Red Sox minor-league left-hander Brian Johnson exited his start Saturday with Triple-A Pawtucket after 1.2 innings after following a right calf injury. The Orioles also get a day off before resuming interleague play against visiting Pittsburgh.

NOTES: Orioles manager Buck Showalter confirmed that RHP Alec Asher, the winning pitcher on Friday, will start the makeup game on Thursday in Washington. He worked into a 3-1 count against Rick Porcello.

Sale (7-2) has won his past four starts against Baltimore.

Price allowed one run on three hits in seven-plus innings.

This series is must-watch TV as it is the first time these teams have met since the Chris Sale incident.

"Awesome, that was probably one of the coolest things I've experienced". The throw, however, tailed on Pena and sailed past Machado into left field, allowing two runs to score. The left fielder went 3-for-4 with two home runs for his first multi-homer game of his major league career. "It would be nice to continue playing well right now", Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "I had it in front of me". But, for me, I really wanted to pick him up right there and kind of break through that and have some momentum going into the next inning. "I just tried to be too quick, tried to put a ideal throw, and I messed it up right there". The Red Sox are one of just two teams without someone on the team that has hit at least ten home runs so far this season (St. Louis Cardinals). "I'm hoping the last day or two of the 10 days that he's a go", Showalter said. "You knew when they scored and got ahead he was going to go to another level".

"I stumbled out of the gate, tried to stay with it as best I could, and my guys behind me picked me up", Sale said. They got a bunch of good arms. "He should be. You look at the normal schedule and everything". He was honored as the 2015 Red Sox Pitcher of the Year and Red Sox Rookie of the Year by the Boston chapter of the BBWAA.

When the Orioles visited Boston during the first week of May, a series of brushback pitches and harsh words in both clubhouses led the commissioner's office to intervene with instructions to end a feud that began in April with a spikes-high slide by Baltimore's Manny Machado into Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia.

Still, the Orioles must solve Tillman's command problems. Rodriguez (4-2, 3.54 ERA) will see orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews on Monday for a second opinion.

It was a highly encouraging start for Price, and it makes me feel a little better about this rotation with Rodriguez out and Porcello not looking quite like the Porcello from previous year.

Davis boosted the lead to 3-1 when he led off the fourth with a solo homer to straightaway center.

The Red Sox then added two insurance runs in the eighth when Mookie Betts doubled and later scored on an Xander Bogaerts fielder's choice. The team said Rutledge was dealing with dehydration.
