Before taking Rebello-McCarthy to the station, police say she told them she had her pet bearded dragon in her bra.

According to WCVB, McCarthy had a blood alcohol level almost twice the legal limit.

Police said Amy Rebello-McCarthy, 39, hit six mailboxes with her 1999 Mercedes before driving up a lawn, where the vehicle became stuck between some trees.

He was tackled and handcuffed, but the weapon was found to be an airsoft replica gun.

They found Rebello-McCarthy, who a witness said had been driving at the time of the crash, standing next to her 1999 Mercedes as Kyewalyanga tried to drive the auto back to the road.

Witnesses claim Rebello-McCarthy was standing outside her vehicle as a male passenger tried to drive it away. "Amy requested from the Officers they call a Tow Truck to pull the 1999 Mercedes C280 to the roadway so they could be on their way", cops wrote.

One thing that did survive the crash was McCarthy's pet bearded dragon lizard. She was reportedly laughing, drooling, and slurring her words. According to police, he couldn't because all four tires were flat, the airbags were all deployed and both bumpers had been ripped off.

According to Taunton Police, Rebello-McCarthy was driving with Marvin K. Kyewalyanga, 22, of Waltham. He said she also had previous drug arrests. "That's why she carried it in her bra", Cindy Berglund, another witness to the crash, said.

Rebello-McCarthy was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, driving to endanger and a marked lane violation.

A spokesman added: 'The Bearded Dragon Lizard was transferred to the Taunton Police Department and turned over to the Animal Control Officer.

The lizard has since been taken into the custody of animal control. It faces no charges at this time'.
