Kevin Durant practices, set to play Saturday in return

OAKLAND, CA - APRIL 8: Draymond Green #23 of the Golden State Warriors handles the ball against the New Orleans Pelicans on April 8, 2017 at ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California. The Warriors have two more games to continue to build a rhythm as they head into the playoffs. A rare James Michael McAdoo shot from downtown was the final highlight of the night as the Warriors put this one away early. Kerr said he fell on it several times Wednesday at Phoenix. It was tough, but I looked at the big picture man and I figured at some point I'll get better.

Warriors star guard Stephen Curry is listed doubtful for Saturday's game with a left knee contusion, but Durant is not concerned about accumulating reps with the two-time MVP before postseason play.

Having Durant back certainly brought some energy. He was rusty, with the customary touch that comes with his silky smooth shooting stroke not looking quite right.

Durant was back, just as they remembered him.

"I felt good putting that jersey on, and running out with the team, going through the layup lines and stuff ... it felt normal again", Durant said.

And they saw it when Durant's teammates didn't seem discombobulated by his presence at all-the Warriors just moved and cut and played defense and did everything that had led to 13 consecutive victories going into this game.

Kevin Durant addresses the media following his first game in over a month. The Warriors flat-out rolled the undermanned New Orleans squad 39-22 in the third quarter to blow an eight-point lead at intermission to 25 entering the fourth period.

The Warriors improved to 66-14 to extend their win streak which is the longest in the National Basketball Association this season.

On the first play of the game, Durant submitted his highlight for the evening, then dutifully commenced following Kerr's suggestion (nine defensive rebounds, 16 points). Featuring strong performances from Andre Iguodala (15 pts/5 reb/5 ast), Javale McGee (16 pts/6 reb) and Ian Clark (17 pts/4 reb/4 ast).

The one thing left to check off the list was a healthy return for Durant, and that came and went Saturday without incident.

He craved the bumping and grinding and swishing, all the basketball activities that remind him both of how much he loves the game and of the fun he missed out on while his knee was healing.
