Nissan launches new version of Terrano

The Nissan Terrano has been the company's flagship SUV in India since 2013. The New Terrano is equipped with a host of optional new equipment for added style and convenience.

Speaking at the launch, Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operation said, " The New Nissan Terrano embodies our commitment to keep focused on what consumers want and value.

TeamBHP has shared the brochure images of the new Terrano. Let's compare the new SUV with the outgoing model and figure out what's exactly changed.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle manufacturer has given the SUV a refreshed look with a new dual-tone layout in black and brown shades, along with new fabric for the seats, steering mounted controls and a seven-inch infotainment system with navigation, the same from the Renault Duster.

There's more chrome on the front grille and L-shaped LED DRLs. The signature V-Motion front grill also gets some slight tweaks, with the mesh design now having a more prominent finish.

In terms of features, the most significant change is the introduction of a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, apart from other features like one-touch lane change indicator, anti-pinch driver side power window and a driver's armrest.

On the outside, the updated Terrano is hard to distinguish from its predecessor, since the changes are negligible. They claim that it is more comfortable than the previous fabric that they used.

Like the pre-facelift version, a total of three engine options are available for the 2017 Terrano. It produces 104 PS at 5750 rpm and 148 Nm of torque at 3750 rpm.

Next is the 1.5-liter dCi turbo-diesel which is available for mid-range models. The petrol is a 1.6-litre unit that makes 103 BHP and 145 Nm of torque while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel engines are paired to 5-speed manual and 6-speed manual gearbox respectively. Besides this, the Terrano also gets standard safety features such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), dual front airbags and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
